Audiovisual Requirements: Compliance with State and Federal Codes in the State of Utah

The purpose of this publication is to identify audiovisual requirements for Title II (State and  local governments) and Title III entities (businesses and nonprofit organizations that serve the public) and help them to understand how the rules for effective communication, including rules that went into effect on March 15, 2011, apply to them. There may be additional regulatory compliance costs and/or equipment incurred in order to meet the requirements of Federal and State Government. The purpose of the effective communication rules is to ensure that the person with a vision, hearing, or speech disability can communicate with, receive information from, and convey information to, the covered entity.
